Screening arthouse, cult, world cinema, trash and a lot of sing-alongs, Deptford Film Club won a commendation for best film programming at the 2012 Film Society of the Year Awards.
My first big arts project, this is where I learned how to secure funding, do market research, manage event licensing, run tech equipment, design posters, plan marketing campaigns, develop industry contacts – and curate cinema.
The film club ran from 2010 to 2016, launching at the Birds Nest with a delicious screening of Les Demoiselles de Rochefort, and coming slowly to a rest within the loving embrace of New Cross + Deptford Free Film Festival. Screenings included >
